Is Your Child Ready to Attend Our Program?
Preparation For School
Children should be able to....
- Attend to toilet needs independently. (Please help by dressing your
child in clothes they can handle by themselves.)
- Use a tissue.
- Handle jackets, snowsuits, and boots with minimal help.
Special Note Regarding Toilet Needs
- If there is an occasional accident, students MUST be capable of
changing independently to dry clothing.
- If a child has an accidental bowel movement in their underclothing, parents will be
contacted to come and change their child or to pick them up.
Our teachers are NOT permitted to change your
child.
Parents can help their
child make the home/school adjustment by…
- Having a pleasant attitude about school
- Showing interest in school projects
- Reading/displaying
school calendars so child is prepared for the days special
activities
- Sending
your child in comfortable play clothes
- Labeling
clothing and all other possessions brought to school
- Becoming an active
participant in all school activities
